Các thí sinh trong kỳ thi IELTS sẽ cần phải chuẩn bị cho mình các từ vựng thật rộng để làm phong phú câu trả lời của bạn, Dưới đây là một số các gợi ý về từ vựng chủ đề Education để giúp bạn có thể làm câu trả lời của bạn đa dạng và làm giám khảo thấy được vốn từ vựng của bạn phong phú đến đâu.
I. Phần mở đầu
Education không phải là một chủ đề khó và cũng là một chủ đề khá phổ biến trong kỳ thi IELTS. Tuy vậy, các bạn cũng cần lưu ý và chuẩn bị cho mình các từ vựng liên quan đến chủ đề này để có thể làm cho câu trả lời của bạn phong phú hơn.
II. Các từ vựng (tiếp)
28. diploma : khóa học giáo dục đại học ngắn
Ví dụ: Greg did so well in his two-year engineering diploma that his tutor persuaded him to study for another year to qualify for a degree.
27. bachelor’s degree/ degree (BA/BSc etc): bằng cấp đại học
Ví dụ: I’m studying for a bachelor’s degree in marine biology.
Ví dụ: I’m studying for a BA in history.
28. master’s degree/ master’s (MA/MSc etc): bằng thạc sĩ
Ví dụ: Alonso wanted to stay on at university an extra year to study for his master’s but his parents couldn't afford the fees.
29. doctorate (PhD): bằng giáo sư
Ví dụ: I’m so proud of my sister for achieving a PhD in biochemistry.
30. fellowship: một bài giảng hoặc nghiên cứu được trao cho một người đang học để lấy bằng cấp cao.
Ví dụ: Being awarded a research fellowship at my university is a dream come true as it enables me to stay on and study for my doctorate.
31. headteacher/principal: hiệu trưởng
Ví dụ: Our headteacher had been principal for 12 years when he retired.
32. teacher: giáo viên
Ví dụ: My favourite teacher at school was Mr Webber because he made lessons so interesting.
33. tutor : gia sư
Ví dụ: Our son struggles with maths so we’ve got him a private tutor to help him with his work.
34. lecturer : giảng viên đại học
Ví dụ: My cousin is a lecturer in physics at the University of London.
35. professor: giáo sư
Ví dụ: Professor Stephen Hawking was one of the most influential figures in modern science.
36. pupil: học sinh
Ví dụ: The pupils loved Miss Lefebvre’s French lessons as she gave them fun learning games to play.
37. student: sinh viên
Ví dụ: The beginning of the academic year was so busy with all the new students starting their college courses.
38. mature student: một sinh viên đi học cao đẳng hoặc đại học vài năm sau khi rời trường
Ví dụ: Jose was so grateful for the chance to study for a degree as a mature student having left school with very few qualifications.
39. a graduate: tốt nghiệp
Ví dụ: University graduates can usually get higher paid jobs than people with vocational skills.
40. peer: bạn cùng lớp
Ví dụ: Pupils these days are under a lot of pressure to dress and behave like their peers.
41. curriculum : các môn học bao gồm khóa học ở trường hoặc cao đẳng
Ví dụ: Her parents chose the school because it offered a broad curriculum including drama and dance which were her favourite subjects.
42. syllabus : đề cương hoặc tóm tắt về các chủ đề sẽ được đề cập trong một khóa học
Ví dụ: The new syllabus included environmental science which was becoming more popular as a school subject.

1. to play truant: trốn học
Ví dụ: Helios was always playing truant from school which he regretted when he failed his exams and struggled to find a good job.
2. to skip classes: vắng mặt trong các bài học mà bạn phải tham dự
Ví dụ: I was never brave enough to skip classes as my parents would have been furious if they’d found out.
3. bookworm : mọt sách
Ví dụ: My best friend is a real bookworm but is a great person to have on your quiz team because his general knowledge is excellent.
4. rote learning : phong cách giảng dạy dựa trên việc học bằng cách ghi nhớ thông qua sự lặp lại
Ví dụ: My parents’ education was based on rote learning but there was more emphasis on learning by investigation by the time I went to school.
5. literacy : khả năng đọc và viết
Ví dụ: Afghanistan has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world with just 28% of people able to read and write.

Ví dụ: There are many children in the poorest countries of the world who have little or no access to education and are illiterate.
7. remedial: liên quan đến những học sinh cần giúp đỡ thêm trong một lĩnh vực học tập hoặc môn học cụ thể
Ví dụ: Pupils who got poor grades use to be put in a remedial class but now they are given extra support from a learning assistant.
8. additional needs/special needs : những sinh viên cần sự giúp đỡ đặc biệt do khó khăn trong học tập hoặc thể chất
Ví dụ: Shona spend the later part of her teaching career working in a school for students with additional needs.
9. extra-curricular activities: các hoạt động hoặc môn học được cung cấp ngoài chương trình giảng dạy bình thường thường được cung cấp ngoài giờ học bình thường
Ví dụ: The most popular extra-curricular activities at Westcroft School were pottery, badminton and computer programming.
