Trong phần thi IELTS Speaking, các bạn có thể gặp rất nhiều chủ đề khác nhau và việc chuẩn bị cho mình một list từ vựng về các chủ đề khác nhau để có thể trả lời các câu hỏi của giám khảo. Dưới đây là gợi ý cho các bạn danh sách từ vựng liên quan đến chủ đề Music.
I. Phần mở đầu
Để có thể tự tin trả lời được các chủ đề trong phần thi IELTS Speaking, các bạn cần chuẩn bị cho mình một lượng từ vựng phong phú. Dưới đây là gợi ý một số các từ vựng chủ đề Music trong phần thi Speaking của kỳ thi IELTS.

d) Một số từ miêu tả về các buổi trình diễn
1. a performance: Một buổi trình diễn
Ví dụ: The choir gave a wonderful performance at my sister’s wedding.
2. a gig: một buổi trình diễn của một nhóm nhạc
Ví dụ: My new band is playing their first gig at the weekend.
3. a show
Ví dụ: I’m going to my kid’s school this evening to watch them perform in a show.
4. live music: biểu diễn trực tiếp
Ví dụ: We have many clubs in my city and I often go along with friends to listen to live music.
5. music festival: lễ hội âm nhạc
Ví dụ: I try to go to at least one music festival each summer.
6. concert
Ví dụ: My orchestra is going to perform at a concert organized to raise money for charity.
7. stage: sân khấu
Ví dụ: I felt nervous when I walked out on stage and saw the large audience waiting to hear me sing.
e) Các từ vựng
1. recording / recorded music: ghi âm lại
Ví dụ: I have recordings of many of my favourite bands stored on my computer.
2. MP3 player
Ví dụ: I always carry my MP3 player with me so that I can listen to music whenever I want to.
3. headphones / earphones: tai nghe
Ví dụ: I wear earphones to listen to music on my MP3 player while I’m out jogging.
4. album: tuyển tập các bài hát được ghi lại vào CD
Ví dụ: I can’t wait for my favourite band’s new album to come out.
5. to download tracks: tải nhạc từ Internet
Ví dụ: I heard a great band at the gig last night and I’m going to download some of their tracks.
g) Các từ vựng miêu tả bài hát hay giai điệu
1. lyrics: lời bài hát
Ví dụ: Leonard Cohen wrote some of the best lyrics of all time and many artists still perform his songs today.
2. a melody: giai điệu
Ví dụ: I had trouble picking up the melody of the new piece we started learning at choir rehearsal today and will practise it at home.
3. a tune: phần âm nhạc của một bài hát, đặc biệt là một phần dễ nhớ
Ví dụ: I heard a really catchy tune of on my kid’s TV programme this morning and I’ve been humming it all day.
4. piece of music: một tác phẩm âm nhạc
Ví dụ: My piano teacher has given me a new piece of music to learn before my next lesson.
5. taste in music: gu âm nhạc của ai đó
Ví dụ: My boyfriend and I have the same taste in music and go to live gigs whenever we can.
6. rhythm: giai điệu
Ví dụ: I love the rhythm of reggae music.
7. beat: nhịp điệu
Ví dụ: Rap music has such a distinctive beat.
8. harmony: một âm thanh dễ chịu được tạo ra bởi các nốt khác nhau được chơi hoặc hát cùng một lúc
Ví dụ: One of the reason I enjoy country music so much is because many songs have lovely harmonies.
9. to be out of tune: chơi nhạc hoặc hát sai nốt nhạc
Ví dụ: My dad likes to sing along the radio but is so out of tune that it sounds terrible.
10. to be in tune: chơi nhạc hoặc hát đúng cao độ
Ví dụ: Before the performance, the guitarist tightened the strings of his guitar so that it was in tune.
11. to have a great voice: có một giọng hát hay
Ví dụ: I think my friend should enter the singing competition as she has a great voice.
12. to be tone deaf: không phân biệt được các nốt nhạc
Ví dụ: I’d really like to able to sing but I'm tone deaf so I don’t think there’s much chance.
13. chorus: một dòng nhạc lặp lại thường xuyên trong một bài hát
Ví dụ: The choir sang lots of well-known songs and encourages the audience to sing along to the choruses.
14. upbeat: Sống động hoặc tươi vui
Ví dụ: If I’m feeling sad I put on some upbeat music and feel better almost at once.
15. nursery rhyme: bài hát truyền thống hoặc thơ cho trẻ con
Ví dụ: I can still remember many of the nursery rhymes I learnt as a child.
16. lullaby: khúc hát ru
Ví dụ: If my baby wakes up in the night I just sing him a lullaby and he soon goes back to sleep.
17. sing to sleep: hát ru
Ví dụ: My mum used to sing us to sleep when we were young.
h) Các từ miêu tả cảm xúc
1. passionate: đam mê
Ví dụ: I’m passionate about playing the saxophone.
2. to cheer up: làm ai đó vui
Ví dụ: Upbeat music always cheers me up if I’m feeling down.
3. relax / chill out: thư giãn
Ví dụ: After a stressful day at work, I lie in the bath listening to classical music as this helps me to chill out.
4. energise: tràn đầy năng lượng
Ví dụ: Reggae music energises me so that’s what I Iisten to when I feel sluggish and need motivating.
