Trong phần thi IELTS Speaking, các bạn có thể gặp rất nhiều chủ đề khác nhau và việc chuẩn bị cho mình một list từ vựng về các chủ đề khác nhau để có thể trả lời các câu hỏi của giám khảo. Dưới đây là gợi ý cho các bạn danh sách từ vựng liên quan đến chủ đề Music.
I. Phần mở đầu
Để có thể tự tin trả lời được các chủ đề trong phần thi IELTS Speaking, các bạn cần chuẩn bị cho mình một lượng từ vựng phong phú. Dưới đây là gợi ý một số các từ vựng chủ đề Music trong phần thi Speaking của kỳ thi IELTS.

Part 2-IELTS Speaking
Describe your favourite music group or band.
You should say:

Part 3-IELTS Speaking
1) Is it important to listen to music with other people?
2) Why do you think older and younger generations prefer different types of music?

III. Các từ vựng liên quan đến chủ đề Music và ví dụ
a) Các từ vựng liên quan đến các loại nhạc
1. music genre: các loại nhạc với phong cách khác nhau
Ví dụ: My favourite music genre is rap.
2. pop
Ví dụ: Pop songs are enjoyed by lots of different types of people because they have a good rhythm, a catchy melody, and are easy to remember and sing along to.
3. rock music
Ví dụ: The Rolling Stones play some of the best rock music ever written.
4.heavy metal: một dạng nhac rock nhưng mạnh hơn
Ví dụ: I like some rock music but find heavy metal a bit too loud.
5. rap
Ví dụ: Whilst I’m not a great fan of rap music, I do think it’s amazing how they speak so fast and remember the words.
6.country music: nhạc đồng quê
Ví dụ: There’s a great country music venue in my town where everyone dresses up as cowboys when they go to gigs.
7. jazz
Ví dụ: Louis Armstrong is still a popular jazz musician many decades after his death.
8. blues
Ví dụ: Did you know that the blues is named after the expression ‘to feel blue’ which means to be sad or depressed?
9. traditional music: nhạc truyền thống
Ví dụ: Traditional music is part of our culture and should be preserved.
10. folk: nhạc dân gian
Ví dụ: We have some talented young folk musicians in my country who love performing songs from the old days and writing new folk songs for our generation.
11. classical music: nhạc cổ điển
Ví dụ: I find that classical music really stirs up the emotions and I particularly enjoy listening to Beethoven and Bach.
12. opera
Ví dụ: I’m not a fan of opera as I really don’t like the style of singing.
13. musical: nhạc kịch
Ví dụ: Although there are lots of great new musicals being written, I still love West Side Story the best.
14. instrumental music nhạc với các loại nhạc cụ là chính
Ví dụ: I’m not happy when they play instrumental music on my favourite radio station as I like to be able to sing along the lyrics.
15. background music: nhạc nền
Ví dụ: My friend likes to have background music on while she’s studying but I need a quiet place to work.

c) Một số cụm từ có thể dùng để trả lời trong phần thi IELTS Speaking:
1. to take up (a musical instrument): bắt đầu học một nhạc cụ nào đó
Ví dụ: I’m going to take up the guitar.
2. to read music: hiểu và đọc được các nốt nhạc để đánh theo
Ví dụ: I’m so glad I learnt to read music when I had piano lessons as a child because it really helps me now that I sing in a choir.
3. to play by ear: chơi nhạc cụ không cần nhìn bản nhạc
Ví dụ: Many talented musicians can’t even read music and only play by ear.
4. talented: tài năng
Ví dụ: I never got the hang of playing an instrument even though both my parents are talented musicians.
5. to be musical: có kĩ năng hoặc rất thích trong việc chơi nhac cụ
Ví dụ: My friend Sally is very musical and can play several different instruments.
6. self-discipline: tự ký luật
Ví dụ: You need a lot of self-discipline to learn the piano as you have to practise every day and play boring scales.
7. sense of accomplishment: cảm thấy đạt được thứ gì đó khiến bạn cảm thấy tự hào
Ví dụ: Bernie felt a real sense of accomplishment at passing his Grade 2 flute exam.
8. vocals: một phần của một bản nhạc được hát
Ví dụ: My parents met in a band. Dad was a guitarist and Mum sang vocals.
