CÓ BAO NHIÊU CÁCH NÓI “THE SAME"

Parapharse là một trong số các kỹ năng không thể thiếu trong phần thi IELTS Writing và Speaking.

Do đó, để tránh các hiện tượng lặp lại từ đã nói hoặc đã viết thì kỹ năng paraphrasing là một kỹ năng vô cùng quan trọng nhằm cải thiện band điểm IELTS của bạn.

Tuy nhiên, để có thể thành thạo kỹ năng này thì trước hết chúng ta phải có đủ vốn từ cho để có thể diễn đạt thứ chúng ta cần. Vì vậy, việc học nhiều từ mới là một việc thiết yếu cần được thực hiện qua mỗi ngày.

Khi chúng ta muốn so sánh một sự vật, hay hiện tượng nào đó không thay đổi thì bản năng tiếng Anh của chúng ta sẽ bật ngay ra từ “the same” hoặc tính từ “similar” đúng không?

Vậy hôm nay để các bạn có thêm nhiều cách nói phong phú hơn về những sự vật, sự việc giống nhau thì chúng ta hãy cùng xem chúng ta có bao nhiêu cách nói cho từ này nhé!!! Hãy cùng mình tham khảo 11 cách nói sau đây:

1. Unchanging (adj)

Đây là tính từ chỉ một cái gì đó giống nhau, không thay đổi = ​that always stays the same and does not change

• unchanging truths
• The days went by, unchanging.
• The party stood for certain unchanging principles.
• The minister imposed unchanging educational standards.

2. Invariable (adj)

Không đổi, cố định, bất biến = always the same; never changing

• His training for healthy diet is invariable.
• Her routine was invariable.
• his invariable courtesy and charm
• an invariable principle
• This is an invariable law: true at all times and places.

3. Immutable (adj)

Không thể biến đổi được, không thể thay đổi được (formal) (từ này thường được dùng trong cách nói có phần hài hước, châm biếm) = that cannot be changed; that will never change

• This decision should not be seen as immutable.
• He made me flabbergasted with his immutable truth.
• It is an immutable fact that men always chase after theirs “preys” - women

4. Hard-and-fast (idiom)

Không thể biến đổi trong bất cứ hoàn cảnh nào (thường được sử dụng trong câu phủ định) = (especially after a negative) that cannot be changed in any circumstances

• There are no hard and fast rules about this.
• This situation isn’t hard and fast.
• There are no hard-and-fast rules for this circumstance.

5. Consistent (adj)

Kiên định, trước sau như một = always behaving in the same way, or having the same opinions, standards, etc.

• We must be consistent in treating all the children equally.
• He has been Milan's most consistent player (= who plays well most often) this season.
• She's not very consistent in the way she treats her children.
• We must be consistent in applying the rules.
• Each generation becomes ever more consistent in its thinking.
• His attitude isn't absolutely consistent.
• It is desirable that domestic and EU law should be mutually consistent.

6. Set in stone (adj)

Kiên cố, khó thay đổi (trong quyết định, hoặc kế hoạch) – thường sử dụng trong các câu phủ định = (of a decision, plan, etc.) unable to be changed

• People should remember that our proposals aren't set in stone.
• These rules are not set in stone.
• Please express your ideas about the design of this skyscapper, I see the visual images are not set in stone yet.

7. Irreversible (adj)

Không thể đảo ngược, không thể quay trở lại như cũ = ​that cannot be changed back to what it was before

• an irreversible change/decline/decision
• irreversible brain damage (= that will not improve)
• The damage that human beings cause to the environment is irreversible.

8. Steady (adj)

Vững chắc, không thay đổi (về tốc độ, nhịp điệu,…) = developing, growing, etc. gradually and in an even and regular way

• We've had five years of steady economic growth.
• The last decade has seen a steady decline in the number of birds nesting here.
• There has been a gradual but steady increase in prices.
• We are making slow but steady progress.
• The castle receives a steady stream of visitors.
• There seemed to be a steady flow of customers all day.
• It makes me feel good when I and my husband walk at a steady pace.
• She drove at a steady 50 mph.
• They set off at a steady pace.
• a steady boyfriend/girlfriend (= with whom you have a serious relationship or one that has lasted a long time)
• to have a steady relationship

9. Steadfast (adj)

Kiên định = not changing in your attitudes or aims

• steadfast loyalty
• steadfast in something He remained steadfast in his determination to bring the killers to justice.
• He remains steadfast in his determination to engage this confident woman.

10. Same old same old (idiom)

Thể hiện sự buồn chán, tuyệt vọng khi một thứ gì đó mãi không thay đổi = (informal) used to say that a situation has not changed at all

• ‘How's it going?’ ‘Oh, same old, same old.’
• I though his speech is monotonous, I’m afraid to say it’s really same old same old.

11. A leopard doesn’t change its spots

Chỉ một ai đó không bao giờ sửa được tính cách xấu của mình/giang sơn dễ đổi bản tính khó rời (idiom) = something you say that means a person's character, especially if it is bad, will not change, even if they pretend that it will

• He is being selfish when he has to share his piece of cake with friends. “A leopard doesn’t change its spots”, really.
• After our breakup, he came crawling back, trying to convince me that he'd changed, but I know that a leopard can't change its spots.
• Bill may say he'll stop being so jealous after Cindy marries him, but I doubt he will. A leopard can't change his spots.
• Also, the tiger cannot change its stripes. One can't change one's essential nature. For example, He's a conservative, no matter what he says; the leopard cannot change its spots.
