Ở phần 1 mình đã giới thiệu cho các bạn 12 cặp từ phát âm giống hệt nhau nhưng lại khác nhau hoàn toàn về nghĩa. Hôm nay chúng ta cùng nhau tiếp tục học 13 cặp từ nữa nhé!!!
1. For & four
Phát âm:
* For:
- What can I do for you (= how can I help you)?
- Can you translate this letter for me?
- I took her classes for her while she was sick.
* Four:
- I can't read your writing—is this meant to be a four?
- The bulbs are planted in threes or fours (= groups of three or four).
- We moved to America when I was four (= four years old).
- Shall we meet at four (= at four o'clock), then?
2. Hear & Here
Phát âm:
* Hear:
- She could hear voices in the kitchen.
- I could hear the sound of traffic in the background.
- She heard footsteps behind her.
- I couldn’t hear anything.
* Here:
- Here's the money I promised you.
- Here's a dish that is simple and quick to make.
- Here is your opportunity.
- Here comes the bus.

3. Knight & night
Phát âm:
* Knight:
- Knight is a man of high social rank who had a duty to fight for his king. Knights are often shown in pictures riding horses and wearing armour.
* Night:
- Where did you spend the night?
- You're welcome to stay the night here.
- What is he doing calling at this time of night?
- You'll feel better after you've had a good night's sleep.
4. Mail & male
Phát âm: /meɪl/
* Mail:
- Hard copies of the documents are in the mail to you.
- We do our business by mail.
- Never send cash through the mail.
- We did not get any message via mail or email.
* Male:
- All the attackers were male, aged between 25 and 30.
- The workforce is predominantly male.
- There are three lead male characters in the film.
- Female students asked more questions than their male counterparts.
5. Meat & meet
Phát âm:
* Meat:
- Their diet consists of lean meat and vegetables.
- Store raw meat on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator.
- She always buys the cheaper cuts of meat.
- Simmer the meat for 30 minutes until tender.
* Meet:
- The Prime Minister met other European leaders for talks.

6. Right & write

* Right:
- What's the right time?’ ‘10.37.’
- That's exactly right.
- ‘David, isn't it?’ ‘Yes, that's right.’
- It was Monday you went to see Angie, right?
- Let me get this right (= understand correctly) - you want us to do an extra ten hours' work for no extra pay?
* Write:
- In some countries children don't start learning to read and write until they are six.
- Please write in pen on both sides of the paper.
- I haven't got anything to write with.
- Write your name at the top of the paper.
- The teacher wrote the answers on the board.
7. Son & sun
Phát âm:
* Son:
- Living alone and trying to bring up a young son is no easy task.
- The queen bore him four fine sons.
- They welcomed me like a long-lost son.
* Sun:
- It was getting cooler as the sun sank below the horizon.
- Just then, a watery sun broke through the clouds.
- The clouds darkened, obliterating the sun.

8. Wait & weight
Phát âm: /weɪt/
* Wait:
- She rang the bell and waited.
- The President agreed to speak to the waiting journalists.
- They waited patiently while I got ready.
- I waited and waited, but the bus didn't come.
* Weight:
- In the wild, this fish can reach a weight of 5lbs.
- She is trying to lose weight (= become less heavy and less fat).
- He’s put on/gained weight (= become heavier and fatter) since he gave up smoking.
- No more for me. I have to watch my weight.
9. Hi & High
Phát âm: /haɪ/
* Hi:
- Hi guys!
- Hi, there! How're you doing?
- Say hi to her from me.
* High:
- What's the highest mountain in the US?
- The house has a high wall all the way round it.
- How high is Everest?
- It's only a low wall—about a metre high.
- The grass was waist-high.
10. Allowed & Aloud
Phát âm: /əˈlaʊd/
* Allowed:
- He allowed his mind to wander.
- The law allowed companies to dismiss workers without any reason.
- Students are only allowed to use the equipment under supervision.
- This research must be allowed to continue.
* Aloud:
- The teacher listened to the children reading aloud.
- He read the letter aloud to us.
- ‘What am I going to do?’ she wondered aloud.
- She cried aloud in protest.
11. Bare & bear
Phát âm: /beə(r)/
* Bare:
- She likes to walk around in bare feet.
- They wore shabby clothes and their feet were bare.
- His bare legs were covered in wiry golden hairs.
- The winter sun filtered through the bare branches of the trees.
* Bear:
- The pain was almost more than he could bear.
- She bore it all with her usual patience.
- She couldn't bear the thought of losing him.
- I can't bear having cats in the house.
- He can't bear being laughed at.
12. Be & bee

* Be:

- He wants to be (= become) a pilot when he grows up.

* Bee:
- Butterflies, flies and bees pollinate flowers.
- He was stung by thousands of angry bees.
- Lavender attracts bees.
- The bees swarmed around the hive.
13. Blew & Blue

* Blew:
- He drew on his cigarette and blew out a stream of smoke.
- The wind blew the door shut.
- She blew the dust off the book.
- The bomb blast blew two passers-by across the street.
* Blue:
- The sun shone brilliantly in the clear blue sky.
