Trong kỳ thi IELTS, các bạn có thể gặp rất nhiều các chủ đề và việc chuẩn bị cho mình list từ vựng rông cho mỗi chủ đề là rất quan trọng. Dưới đây là một số nhóm từ gợi ý cho phần thi IELTS Speaking chủ đề shopping.
I. Phần mở đầu
Để có thể đạt band điểm mà bạn mong muốn trong phần thi Speaking của kỳ thi IELTS, các bạn cần chuẩn bị cho mình những list từ vựng phong phú, các bận không cần phải học thuộc hết các từ vựng gợi ý dưới đây. Hãy áp dụng chúng trong câu trả lời để nó có được sự kết hợp phù hợp nhất. Dưới đây là một số câu hỏi bạn có thể gặp và các list từ vựng phục vụ cho chủ đề Shopping.
II. Các câu hỏi thường gặp
Trong phần thi IELTS Speaking, về chủ đề câu hỏi thường gặp sẽ bao gồm:

III. Các từ vựng chủ đề Shopping- IELTS Speaking
1. to go shopping
Ví dụ: I won’t be home until 6pm tonight because I’m going shopping after work.
2. to do the shopping
Ví dụ: I hate doing the shopping as it’s always so crowded in the supermarket.
3. goods: hàng hóa
Ví dụ: Department stores have a wide range of goods on sale.
4. window shopping: ngắm các hàng hóa mà không mua
Ví dụ: One of my favourite activities on a Saturday is to go window shopping with my friends to see the latest fashions.
5. bargain hunting: tìm kiếm các sản phẩm có giá trị, được bán với giá thấp hơn bình thường
Ví dụ: I love bargain hunting and feel great when I find something I need at a knock-down price.
6. shop around: so sánh giá cả trước khi mua
Ví dụ: I always shop around before buying high value items as prices can vary considerably.
7. browse: nhìn vào mọi thứ trong một hoặc nhiều cửa hàng mà không có ý định mua bất cứ thứ gì
Ví dụ: When I go into town, I often browse around the clothes shops to see if I can pick up any bargains.
8. retail therapy: mua đồ để khiến bản thân cảm thấy tốt hơn khi bạn không vui
Ví dụ: I need some retail therapy to help me get over the disappointment of not getting a promotion at work.
9. to go on a shopping spree: một khoảng thời gian ngắn mà ai đó mua rất nhiều thứ
Ví dụ: I’ll have to go on a shopping spree before my holiday next month as I’ve lost so much weight that my beachwear doesn’t fit me anymore.
10. hit the shops / stores: đi mua sắm
Ví dụ: I’m taking a bus into the city with some friends on Saturday and we’re going to hit the shops.
11. an impulse buy: mua hàng ngoài kế hoạch mà không suy nghĩ cẩn thận
Ví dụ: My waterproof jacket was an impulse buy as I was actually looking for some new walking boots, but it was such a bargain that I just had to get it.
12. a shopaholic: một người nghiện mua sắm
Ví dụ:My friend Sally is a true shopaholic but I do worry about her as she can’t really afford all the designer clothes she buys.
13. to try on: thử đồ
Ví dụ: Can I try on these two dresses please as I’m not sure which size will fit me best?
14. take something back: trả lại
Ví dụ: I’m going to have to take this jacket back to the shop as the colour doesn’t match my skirt.
15. to return an item: trả lại đồ cho cửa hàng
Ví dụ: I’ll have to return the jumper I bought online as they sent the wrong size.
16. exchange: đổi
Ví dụ: The shirt I bought my dad for his birthday is too large so I’m going to exchange it for a smaller one.
17. for sale: để bán
Ví dụ: I was really impressed by the quality of goods for sale in the new furniture shop in town.
18. shopping list: danh sách các đồ cần mua
Ví dụ: I always take a shopping list when I go to the supermarket so that I don’t forget anything.
19. customer service: các dịch vụ khách hàng
Ví dụ: I was really impressed with the customer service at the computer shop as a sales assistant helped me to choose the best laptop for my needs rather than trying to sell me a more expensive one.
20. to give someone the hard sell: cố gắng bán cho ai đó một cách ép buộc
Ví dụ: When I said I needed to go away and think about it before buying the car, the salesman tried the hard sell on me.
21. shoplifting: lấy hàng mà chưa trả tiền (ăn cắp)
Ví dụ: My cousin was caught shoplifting again and might be sent to prison this time.
22. shop online / internet shopping: mua trên mạng
Ví dụ: It’s really popular to do your grocery shopping online these days and have it delivered to your house.
23. to order: đặt hàng
Ví dụ: I must remember to go online and order the computer game my brother wants for his birthday or it won’t arrive in time.
