I. PHẦN MỞ ĐẦU

Thông thường topic về family sẽ được hỏi ở part 1 như một câu hỏi khởi động, chẳng hạn như "How many people are there in your family?", hoặc "Who do you love most in your family?".

1. Is family important in your country?
- Yes, of course. As far as I’m concerned, family is truly crucial in my hometown because human being cannot live solitary lives all the time, we need others to support and understand us whenever we overcome ups and downs. For example, when you are turned down by a new job interview or you have to undergo the pain of love when being dumped by someone, there is no denying that it’s pretty easier to have family there to boost your self-esteem no matter what thanks to their unconditional love for you. Therefore, the sensation of fear will cease to exist if you realize that family always stand by you, regardless of what.
2. How has the size of the family changed in the last few decades in your country?
- Well, I reckon that the family size seems much smaller over many decades in my country. For instance, back in the past 50 years, marriage and traditional extended family structure were still
a norm. Nevertheless, the kinship ties now are going to decline and people have a tendency to form a nuclear family than an extended one or even just be lone parent families if they want. The reason why the size of the family transforms drastically is because the bulk of people nowadays like to enjoy their own lives rather than living for somebody else. For this reason, the more modern humans are, the lower levels of family structure.
3. How do you think the family will change in the future?
- Well, my own view on this matter is that compared to the past, couples have a tendency to cohabit after marriage with children following shortly. At the moment, nonetheless, typical structure of a modern family is further complicated, with fewer marriages, rising divorce rates and increasing concept of same sex couples because everybody now is busy, men and women is equal to each other, and the mindset of forming traditional family structure lags behind. Especially, being single without being scrared or having fears of being isolated have been ascended, so I hope that we will soon find out resolutions for this heated issue.
